Job Overview

Role Summary: The Lead Engineer for Product Quality and Reliability will be responsible for the comprehensive design, development, and execution of tests related to reliability for SSD products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement reliability testing protocols for SSD products, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to design engineering teams regarding the selection and application of SSD testing methodologies.
  • Advise on statistical process control techniques and recommend design modifications to enhance product reliability.
  • Analyze component and system requirements to meet both company and customer specifications.
  • Innovate new acceleration methods and analytical tools aimed at early detection of potential issues in new products, packaging, and processes.
  • Suggest design or formulation adjustments to bolster SSD product and process reliability.
  • Facilitate collaboration with design engineering teams to efficiently pinpoint and resolve issues.
  • Work closely with NAND, firmware, SoC, and other validation teams to ensure prompt and effective solutions to challenges.
  • Design and develop testing frameworks to continuously enhance SSD validation coverage.
  • Coordinate and automate data analysis efforts to better identify potential SSD concerns.

This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of product quality and reliability at Western Digital.
