POSITION OVERVIEW AND REQUIREMENTS:

Lecturer in Agricultural Economic Studies
Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education


This is a nine-month, tenure-track role in Agricultural Economics, with a focus on 60% research and 40% teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will be expected to establish a research program that is recognized both nationally and internationally, concentrating on policy-driven issues related to agricultural economics. Potential research areas may encompass farm policy and markets, risk management and insurance, food and nutrition initiatives, agro-environmental programs, and sustainable agricultural practices. The successful candidate will also be tasked with securing external funding for their research endeavors. Teaching responsibilities will include delivering three courses annually within the Agribusiness Management (AGBM) undergraduate major and the Energy, Environmental, and Food Economics (EEFE) graduate program. Mentoring of graduate students is also an expected duty.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in applied or general economics, or a related discipline, is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience in research and grant competition within agricultural economics. Candidates must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date. Applicants should exhibit strong quantitative and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Engagement with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students is essential, and the successful candidate will actively work to foster an inclusive learning environment for all students.
