About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Nurse Examiner to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a Forensic Nurse Examiner, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive medical-forensic examinations to adult and adolescent patients who have experienced interpersonal violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical-forensic examinations, including collecting and documenting evidence, and providing expert testimony in court.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy agencies to ensure a patient-centered response to victims of violence.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members to ensure a cohesive and effective team response.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and protocols in forensic nursing.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
  • 1 year Nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification of completion of 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) upon hire.
  • 16-hour SANE Clinical Skills Lab (CSL training) upon hire.
