We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Librarian to join our team at the City of Billings. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for providing a variety of professional library services and programs to support the community.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and implement library policies and procedures.
- Provide technical and functional supervision to lower-level staff and volunteers.
- Develop and implement programs and services to meet the needs of patrons.
- Manage the library's collection of materials, including print, audiovisual, and digital formats.
- Perform circulation duties, including checking books in and out, registering patrons, and updating patron accounts.
- Maintain public and staff areas of the library, including material and resource recovery and cleanup.
- Process requests for interlibrary loans and maintain statistics on loan and request activity.
- Actively participate in updating websites and social media platforms for the library.
- Produce digital promotional materials for publications, websites, and social media.
- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- A Montana Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement.
- Experience with city government and knowledge of department or function operations.
This position requires physical effort lifting up to 25 pounds and pushing up to 200 pounds on a wheeled cart approximately 25% of the time. It also requires high attention to detail or deadlines 75% of the time.
