What We're Looking For:


  • Degree: Certificate in Phlebotomy.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support and certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or AMT.
  • Experience: At least 12 months of experience as a Phlebotomy Technician.


Responsibilities:


  • Collect blood samples from patients and perform various Point of Care Testing (POCT).
  • Practice proper patient identification.
  • Correctly label vials with patient names and dates.
  • Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.
  • Transport all specimen samples to the appropriate laboratory sections.
  • Centrifuge blood samples.
  • Work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status.
  • Practice Infection Control standards always when working with patients and Equipment.
  • Practice OSHA and Personal Protective Equipment Standards.
  • Complete extensive standardized laboratory section training.
