Job Summary

Indiana University is seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our refrigeration systems, including maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration systems, including chillers, central air systems, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and replace refrigeration equipment, including valves, compressors, and condensers.
  • Adjust and calibrate refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure seamless operation of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of verifiable journey-level experience in refrigeration mechanics.
  • Certificate in relevant DOL apprenticed trade.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings. The successful candidate will be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights. The role also requires the ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
