Licensed Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in assessing patients, crafting, coordinating, and executing individualized treatment plans, as well as planning for discharge. This position requires maintaining precise, informative, and timely documentation. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for overseeing the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Depending on the assigned department, the therapist may participate in team and family meetings, conduct home evaluations, provide staff training, and manage basic administrative duties.
All Occupational Therapists are expected to maintain their national registry and state licensure, alongside engaging in ongoing education and mentoring of peers.
This role reports directly to the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
Key ResponsibilitiesPRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Assess patients/residents/clients and formulate treatment plans with measurable and functional objectives.
2. Execute the treatment plan or guide the COTA in the implementation of the treatment strategy.
3. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with the requirements of the designated department.
4. Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, patient/resident/client families, social workers/case managers, physicians, and colleagues.
5. Engage in continuing education opportunities and facilitate training/learning experiences for others, including involvement with student clinical education.
6. Availability for weekend and holiday coverage is anticipated.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
a.) Must have graduated from an accredited occupational therapy program recognized by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
Licensure/Certification- Current state licensure in Missouri
- BLS certification required
