The Infection Preventionist (IP) is a vital member of our team at Belen Meadows Healthcare and Rehab Center, responsible for leading our Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP). This program aims to ensure the quality of patient care by investigating, controlling, and preventing infections and communicable diseases within our nursing center.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain the IPCP to ensure the quality of patient care.
- Create and implement education programs in response to identified infection control needs.
- Support new hire orientation by providing infection prevention and control training for newly hired employees.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control infections and communicable diseases.
- Collaborate with staff to identify and address infection control needs.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.
- Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within 90 days of hire.
