About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team at Forrest Machining Inc. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing company that values the importance of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain the company's EHS management systems and programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct employee training on EHS topics, such as hazardous material handling, emergency response, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, and incidents to identify root causes and develop preventive measures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Maintain records of EHS activities, including inspection results, training sessions, and incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and project planning.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, and recommend improvements to reduce risks and enhance sustainability.
  • Stay current with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Manage hazardous waste storage and disposal programs, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal methods are followed.
  • Assist in the management of EHS documentation, including permits, licenses, and certifications.
  • Facilitate internal and external EHS audits, and address any findings to improve EHS practices.
  • Support the EHS manager in developing policies and procedures that minimize occupational health and safety risks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an EHS role.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Proficient with EHS management systems and software.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Experience with industrial hygiene monitoring and assessment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to develop and deliver EHS training programs.
  • Competent in emergency response planning and incident investigation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is a plus.
  • Certification in a relevant professional body (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH) preferred.
