Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Retail Supervisor to join our team at ALDI. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for assisting with the supervision of day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, and developing operational action plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
  • Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports
  • Understand and communicate company strategy and core values
  • Monitor the competitive environment and inform the direct leader of necessary adjustments
  • Provide product feedback and recommendations
  • Participate in the interviewing process for store personnel
  • Communicate information and developments to team members
  • Ensure store personnel adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
  • Resolve operational customer concerns
  • Identify and rectify hazards and maintain store equipment
  • Maintain store cleanliness standards
  • Assist with maintaining proper stock levels
  • Merchandise product neatly to maximize sales
  • Ensure product quality and freshness
  • Assist with achieving store payroll and total loss budget
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues as necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
  • Ability to establish goals and guide employee performance
  • Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
  • Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses
  • Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to safely and properly operate equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
