Position Summary:

We are in search of a driven and meticulous Procurement / Contract Buyout Manager to lead the acquisition of materials and services for multifamily development initiatives. This role encompasses managing the complete procurement cycle, from identifying and negotiating with suppliers to overseeing contract buyout, while ensuring the prompt delivery of superior materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify, assess, and cultivate relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery options.
  • Contract Buyout: Supervise the contract buyout process, including negotiating terms, drafting contracts, and ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Procurement Strategy: Formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with corporate objectives and project timelines.
  • Cost Management: Oversee and manage procurement budgets, devise cost-saving strategies, and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all procured materials comply with required quality standards, collaborating with the quality control team.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain precise records of inventory levels and anticipate future requirements.
  • Vendor Performance: Assess vendor performance and propose recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to comprehend project specifications and timelines.
  • Documentation: Keep comprehensive records of all procurement activities, contracts, and transactions.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Sales, or a related field; or an associate's degree with equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the construction or real estate development sectors.
  • Familiarity with the multifamily construction industry.
  • Understanding of construction processes, methodologies, materials, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of prefabricated construction technologies and materials.
  • Strong analytical and logical decision-making capabilities.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional demeanor, approachable, and team-oriented.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic, integrity, and reliability.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and utilize hands.
  • Occasionally lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Local travel may be necessary.
