Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled EKG Technician to join our team at Ochsner Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality 12 Lead electrocardiograph (EKG) tests, maintaining the cleanliness and maintenance of EKG equipment, and performing all clerical duties as dictated by leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares, instructs, and educates patients on the procedure.
  • Performs diagnostic procedures, including 12 Lead EKG tests.
  • Documents and maintains patient records.
  • Prepares work area and adapts behavior to the specific patient population.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) certification.
Working Conditions

The incumbent works in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluid, and tissue. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
