Key Responsibilities:

The Nutritional Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared accurately and in alignment with the guidelines set by the supervising dietitian or nutritionist. Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing meal trays and loading food carts efficiently.
  • Adhering to portion control standards to meet dietary regulations.
  • Managing food handling practices to ensure safety and sanitation.
  • Preparing plates according to individual resident preferences and dietary needs.
  • Assisting residents and guests with any special meal requests.
  • Timely removal of dirty dishes and pans, ensuring cleanliness in the dining area.
  • Documenting food temperatures and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensuring all residents are accounted for during meal service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in coolers and freezers, ensuring all items are properly labeled.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • Experience in food service and adherence to proper procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required or in progress.
  • Sanitation certification is preferred.
