Key Responsibilities:
The Nutritional Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring that meals are prepared accurately and in alignment with the guidelines set by the supervising dietitian or nutritionist. Responsibilities include:
- Organizing meal trays and loading food carts efficiently.
- Adhering to portion control standards to meet dietary regulations.
- Managing food handling practices to ensure safety and sanitation.
- Preparing plates according to individual resident preferences and dietary needs.
- Assisting residents and guests with any special meal requests.
- Timely removal of dirty dishes and pans, ensuring cleanliness in the dining area.
- Documenting food temperatures and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring all residents are accounted for during meal service.
- Maintaining cleanliness in coolers and freezers, ensuring all items are properly labeled.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience in food service and adherence to proper procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required or in progress.
- Sanitation certification is preferred.
