Job Summary

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CDL B Delivery Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating Class B motor carrier equipment to deliver products and provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery Operations: Drive a delivery truck to deliver full lines of food products to pre-determined customers on a pre-determined route.
  • Customer Service: Unload product from delivery equipment, deliver product, and check product in with customer representatives. Listen to and assist in resolving service complaints.
  • Inventory Management: Rotate and stock product as needed and/or required. Collect money from customers, make change, and record transactions on customer receipts.
  • Communication: Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and other drivers to ensure safe and on-time arrivals at destinations.
  • Quality Control: Check refrigeration settings to maintain product integrity. Obtain customer signatures on receipts for delivery.
  • Housekeeping: Clean the inside of the truck. Perform daily routine vehicle condition reports on trucks and/or trailers.
  • Temperature Control: Perform frequent temperature checks to ensure product integrity.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Retail experience in the grocery industry is preferred.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must be at least 21 years of age. Must have a clean driving record for the past 39 months. Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B.
  • Skills: Must be able to use a two-wheeler hand truck. Hand-held electronic data entry device skills are helpful. Strong communication skills are required.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to complete required paperwork for Shamrock and DOT.
  • Language: Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public and respond to official inquiries.
