Job Title: CDL Truck Driver

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a reliable and skilled CDL Truck Driver to join our team. As a CDL Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting, delivering, and unloading windows and patio door products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a box truck to transport and deliver products to customers
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicles
  • Deliver products to customers and complete all required paperwork accurately
  • Make inspections of vehicles as required by company policy and law to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate
  • Comply with all regulations, rules, and company procedures while performing job duties
  • Report all road hazards observed in the route
  • Make delivery or pickup freight in route, obtaining signed receipts, collecting, and signing for freight as instructed
  • Immediately report all accidents and/or injuries, including DOT roadside inspections, in which involved
  • At the end of each trip, report the condition of the equipment used and submit paperwork daily
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of units, and cleanout of truck once route is completed daily
  • Plan trips/reads maps
  • Determine shortest and safest route for delivering loads according to trip
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection in accordance with DOT regulations (FMCR)
  • Ensure trip paperwork, permit book, accident kit, load, and safety equipment are in order before departing
  • Interact courteously and professionally with dispatcher, company staff, and customers
  • Complete delivery tickets, including obtaining customer signatures and annotating all discrepancies
  • Notify customer service, at the plant for which you are delivering, of any issues relative to customers' orders
  • Understand and comply with state and federal regulations and company policies
  • Complete trip record, recording odometer readings at each state border and at last delivery and all pick-ups
  • Complete Driver Daily Logs always ensuring that these records are up to date to the last change of duty status
Requirements:
  • Valid Class B driver's license
  • Clean driving record and a minimum of 2 years of delivery driver experience
  • 1 year of manual labor, commercial driving preferred
  • Must be DOT compliant
  • Experience reading maps and using electronic GPS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English language
  • Demonstrate efficiency in the performance of all job duties
