Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and prioritize various simultaneous process enhancement initiatives, either independently or as part of a cross-functional team, aimed at boosting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate production and service constraints, subsequently designing, executing, and assessing quality assurance sampling systems, protocols, and statistical methodologies to monitor improvement progress.
- Supervise the assessment of testing apparatus, precision and accuracy measurements, as well as performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with management to address nonconforming materials and develop corrective action strategies.
- Engage with New Product Development teams to validate new suppliers of materials and services utilized in product realization; partner with Manufacturing Engineers to tackle quality concerns associated with current suppliers.
- Facilitate training sessions on quality assurance principles and tools.
- Gather, structure, oversee, and disseminate information related to product quality and process enhancement for both the Company and its customers/suppliers.
- Act as a consultant to quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams to enhance quality and manufacturing processes, introduce new products, and refine product design.
- Mentor and provide ongoing guidance to assigned personnel to achieve schedules, quality metrics, and organizational objectives.
- Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) database to ensure timely resolution of product issues and the execution of corrective action plans.
- Accompany customers and third-party auditors on behalf of the organization.
- Participate in customer and third-party audits, ensuring that audit findings are addressed and resolved.
- Oversee the internal auditing program, including scheduling audits, conducting them, and ensuring timely closure of all audit findings.
- Conduct external supplier audits and collaborate with suppliers to resolve any identified issues.
- Facilitate investigations into root causes and corrective action analyses.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers, regulatory bodies, and government agencies regarding quality-related matters and audits.
- Drive Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to enhance the quality and reliability of processes.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, with a minimum of one (1) to five (5) years of relevant experience as a Quality Engineer. Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent is preferred. Experience in Aerospace and/or Automotive Quality is advantageous.
- Proficiency in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, drawing interpretation, and familiarity with regulatory standards.
- Experience in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming is preferred.
- Prior experience in quality assurance methodologies such as Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D, control plans, material control, process control, systems performance, product evaluation, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), metrology, automated measurement, and software is preferred.
- Six Sigma training and the capability to apply statistical methods to engineering problem analysis is preferred.
- Proven ability to provide technical leadership and foster teamwork across functional areas.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to articulate technical and conceptual information to individuals at all levels within the customer organization and internally.
- Familiarity with computer programs (ERP, Minitab, Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM).
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government contracts.
