Job Description

As a Court Release Specialist at Vets Hired, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth release of defendants from custody. Your primary responsibilities will include reviewing and processing documents related to court releases, pretrial bonds, and other related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and process court directives, warrants, and other documents related to defendant releases
  • Interpret and verify court orders and directives
  • Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure timely releases
  • Process documents related to pretrial bonds, court-ordered surrenders, and other defendant services
  • Provide information to the public, bonding companies, and other law enforcement agencies
  • Book additional or new charges on defendants
  • Process TDCS penitentiary packets and other related documents
  • Coordinate the transfer of inmates to and from the Harris County Jail system
  • Prepare out-of-county paperwork and notifications
  • Calculate inmate time to serve and apply good time credit
  • Process detainer and bench warrants, surety, cash, and non-arrest bonds, expunction orders, and letters of incarceration
  • Process cost bills associated with judgments and sentences
  • Prepare deposit paperwork and accounting
  • Verify and process county bonds and refund requests
  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies through the OMNIXX system
  • Provide bondsmen and their employees with necessary forms for licensing
  • Establish and maintain a filing system of memoranda, letters, and other documents
  • Review documents to ensure forms are filled out completely and accurately
  • Answer telephones, take messages, and provide information
  • Assist in compiling data, typing and distributing reports, and entering computer data
  • Coordinate work between organizational units and other agencies
  • Comply with departmental and division rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures
  • May assist in training others on specific issues
