Position Overview:

As a Youth Program Support Specialist, your role will involve leading interactive activities and offering focused academic assistance to our participants.

This position is structured for the academic year, with opportunities for summer engagement.


Key Responsibilities:
Establish and uphold high standards for participants.

Facilitate and oversee group enrichment sessions while ensuring a lively and constructive atmosphere (Ratio: 1:12 to 1:15 participants).

Implement program components effectively, ensuring participants are engaged and supervised.

Complete necessary program documentation accurately and promptly (attendance, incident reports, and behavior logs).

Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding individual participant concerns, including academic strengths and challenges.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas.

Ensure a work environment that promotes physical and emotional safety.

Foster a positive atmosphere, encouraging teamwork and constructive dialogue among peers.

Participate in organization-wide training sessions, events, and outings as required.

Show respect for colleagues and participants in the program.

Be adaptable in providing support to other program locations as necessary.

Build supportive relationships with youth and their families.


Utilize Youth Development Strategies in alignment with Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) to sustain a positive behavioral environment.


Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 months experience working with elementary-aged children.

Ability to lead academic and enrichment activities for groups of up to 15 participants.

Capable of establishing rapport with students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.

Exhibit professionalism, punctuality, and excellent communication skills.

Possess energy, leadership qualities, initiative, and the ability to motivate through positive reinforcement.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Schedule:
Availability required on weekdays between 2 PM and 6 PM (minimum of 2 days per week).

Pay:
Starting at $15/hour
