The R&D office oversees a diverse portfolio of research protocols, collaborating with numerous Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure the successful administration of grants and funding opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the entire lifecycle of pre-award and post-award processes for VA Research funding, including the preparation, assessment, and submission of research proposals.
2. Coordinate multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met through the creation of effective planning tools and checklists.
3. Educate and guide investigators on the necessary local and centralized requirements to facilitate timely and accurate completion of pre-award reviews.
4. Confirm compliance with all submission requirements prior to proposal submission.
5. Provide pre-submission consultations to discuss funding options and clarify submission prerequisites.
6. Handle post-award modifications, including requests for funding extensions or reallocation of funds.
7. Advise researchers on eligibility criteria to enhance funding opportunities for currently unfunded projects.
