Key Responsibilities

  • Gathers, interprets, and assesses data related to vegetation, watersheds, rangelands, invasive species, environmental conditions, and natural processes to evaluate the effectiveness of management strategies and practices.
  • Conducts resource inventories, monitoring activities, and surveys.
  • Evaluates major and minor land use projects through resource inventory and assessments.
  • Aids in the preparation of biological assessments and consultations for proposed initiatives and activities on public lands.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of a comprehensive restoration resource information database.
  • Assists with invasive species management and related treatments; reviews and prepares proposals for pesticide applications to ensure compliance with established methods and procedures.
  • Engages in the planning and drafting of multi-use resource management plans and environmental impact assessments.
  • Establishes and nurtures collaborative relationships with external agencies, livestock operators, partner organizations, and the public.
  • Supports the conservation and safeguarding of listed and proposed threatened and endangered plant species in collaboration with other programs.
  • This is a developmental role with a full performance level of GS-09. Responsibilities will expand as the position evolves.
