Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Analyst to join our team at Pilot Corp of America. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation requirements for customer orders, monitoring and analyzing freight expenses, and investigating and resolving freight and non-compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate transportation requirements for customer orders, ensuring timely shipment and delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze freight expenses to ensure they are consistent with the approved budget.
  • Investigate and resolve freight and non-compliance issues, communicating with Credit, Customer Service, and Compliance as necessary.
  • Provide routing and in-transit time for major accounts, including Walmart, Sam's, CVS, Kroger, and Albertson's.
  • Run daily manifests for all carriers, communicate daily volume, and organize paperwork.
  • Enter customer-specific reference numbers and tracking numbers, and print and track daily shipping logs.
  • Coordinate outside projects, including transporting product to third-party vendors, making delivery and pick-up appointments, and bidding with preferred carriers.
  • Manage UPS Worldship shipments and international shipments, including TXMX and other Pilot Pen subsidiaries.
  • Update and manifest all bulk orders.
  • Support Purchasing and Materials by coordinating shipping/receiving loads from outside vendors.
  • Assist Distribution during peak periods in processing and staging orders, including adding placards to truck loads and updating picked & held orders.
  • Create and update a monthly shipping log to analyze freight cost from different carriers and reduce transportation costs.
  • Communicate with the Order Processor Coordinator regarding carrier assignments and pickups.
  • Follow proper procedure regarding the bidding process on FTL, keeping shipping spreadsheets updated with awarded carriers.
  • Support the Logistics team by assisting in running the wave, running replenishment reports, slow/high movers, updating pick & held orders, and adding placards to weekly shipments as necessary.
  • Support Sales and Customer Service regarding PRO # inquiries, shortages, and other transportation-related issues.
  • Maintain the file cabinet organized with daily shipping documents, and assist Credit with BOL, POD, and other requests.
  • Support the Distribution team during year-end audits by counting locations and making necessary adjustments.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus up to 3 years of experience managing transportation in a consumer goods service environment.

Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task are essential. Strong analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills required. Ability to communicate effectively and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software.
