Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Rheumatology Clinic team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Facilitate efficient and effective patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform necessary administrative tasks, maintaining and monitoring electronic health records, and ensuring all information is current and updated.
  • Environment Maintenance: Maintain and clean the environment, work area, equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Communication: Greet and communicate with patients and significant others in a manner consistent with caring and respect, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Data Collection and Monitoring: Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient data and needs as directed, and documenting care consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Quality Improvement: Engage in process and quality improvement activities, making and implementing recommendations to improve operational efficiency and implement new services.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Certifications: One of the following certifications required within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), or AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
