Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Michigan. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider to provide patient-centered medical services and education. This includes maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and performing basic diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with a strong commitment to advancing racial equity in their work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and test results.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to ensure efficient use of provider time.
  • Perform basic diagnostic testing, including vital signs, urine pregnancy testing, and blood draws.
  • Assist providers with exams and procedures, and provide basic patient education on health topics.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
