Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement activities that cater to residents' diverse interests and needs, including physical, social, recreational, intellectual, creative, and entertainment programs.
  • Conduct and lead activities, ensuring a high level of participation and enjoyment among residents.
  • Collaborate with residents to understand their lifestyle choices and preferences, tailoring activities to meet their unique needs.
  • Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.
  • Chaperone activities outside the community, ensuring residents' safety and well-being.
  • Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities, when necessary.
  • Train and support team members to conduct activities, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop a Monthly Activity Calendar that showcases a diverse range of activities, including evening and weekend events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for residents.
Qualifications:
  • A high-school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field is preferred.
  • A Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, team members, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record consistent with Bickford's insurance carrier guidelines.
