Job Description

As a Project Engineer III at InterSources, you will lead the technical performance of all engineering phases on a variety of tactical integrity maintenance projects. This includes ILI maintenance digs, cathodic protection system remediation, and asset integrity maintenance remediation. Your focus will be on continuous improvement and implementing and applying engineering management techniques within our project life cycle process to improve performance, quality, and cost control and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with others to provide technical mentorship, identify and resolve sophisticated problems, and develop innovative approaches to address issues that have significant cost and schedule impact.
  • Plan and conduct your own work, exercising substantial latitude for unreviewed decisions.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in specialty, geographic area, or operational function.
  • Apply specialized knowledge in the effective completion of projects.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and lead meetings and discussions.
  • Anticipate internal/external customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements.
  • Work on a combination of engineering specialties covering more than one discipline.
  • Interpret internal/external business challenges and improve products, processes, or services.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans, and meet training needs.
  • Champion best practice safety standards.
  • Monitor and control costs and resources associated with projects.

Requirements:

  • Be a quick learner regarding Client projects processes and execute all efforts while following Client policies and procedures as well as various laws and codes required for each project.
  • Develop engineering execution strategies to meet overall project objectives and work with internal partners on management of quality control and project timeline.
  • Coordinate with project team and communicate project drivers and develop approaches to accommodate concerns.
  • Partner with contractors and project teams to ensure that technical aspects of the project meet expectations, quality standards, and execution strategy and identify and implement technical improvements.
  • Address the technical content of purchase orders to ensure they contain accurate technical and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate internal resources to ensure Requests For Information are promptly resolved.
  • Develop commissioning plans, close projects, and ensure accurate documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations during project standards reviews.
  • Be accountable for small projects or programs with minimal risks and resource requirements and interface with consultant engineering firms and internal stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum five (5) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry including two (2) years in a similar project engineering role (in asset integrity, cathodic protection, or corrosion mitigation).
  • Other Requirements:
    • Demonstrate excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of the engineering workflow and Project Life Cycle processes.
    • Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to an engineering field.
    • Intermediate knowledge of other engineering subject areas design guides and standards.
    • Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering deliverable content as assigned.
    • Proficiency with construction & constructability practices relevant to integrity maintenance remediation.
    • Strong understanding of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.
    • Strong understanding of industry accepted repairs for integrity maintenance projects.
    • Strong understanding of PHMSA regulations code 192 and 195 with relation to integrity maintenance program management.
    • Familiar with NDT technologies.
    • Proficiency of procurement & contract administration, business & financial insight, management techniques & administrative practices.

  • Experience in Power BI.
  • Experience in Risk Analysis.
  • Lead Certification.
  • Experience in pipeline construction.
  • Experience in system flow analysis.
  • Experience in Aconex.
  • PE certification.
  • Corrosion control management certification.
  • Asset integrity program management certification.
