Job Description

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Manager to lead our Harvard, IL animal nutrition location. This is a unique opportunity to join a global leader in human and animal nutrition and drive business growth while ensuring the safe and successful operation of our pet treat plant.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement site strategies to achieve business objectives and drive continuous improvement processes.
• Lead day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.).
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and excellence, promoting a positive work environment and high employee engagement and morale.
• Collaborate with Food Safety and Quality personnel to ensure continuous audit readiness in a Food Safety plant.
• Utilize assets efficiently to meet production and quality goals, embracing an owner's mentality by managing costs and focusing on efficiency improvement.
• Provide mentorship to department superintendents and engineers, driving short-term and long-term department performance through KPIs, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence concepts.
• Ensure training and development of all plant employees, providing mentorship, accountability, and disciplinary support as necessary.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Continuous Improvement, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a similar area of concentration.
• 5+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing, or a similar industry.
• Excellent leadership ability, including a vision for strategic direction, delegation, and leading others in work execution.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety Standards is vital.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and make decisions in a fair and professional manner.
• Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 55 lbs, and work in various climates.

Preferred Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing, or a similar industry.
• Continuous Improvement leadership and application of CI processes in a production environment.
• Demonstrated scale-up experience and/or new technology development experience in a production environment.
• Knowledge of multiple processes and unit operations in a full-scale production plant, including mixers, blenders, extruders, SURP, and jar packaging systems.
