Governance, Risk, and Compliance Director

Weaver, a full-service national accounting, advisory, and consulting firm, is looking for an experienced Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) professional to join our growing practice. This role will work closely with our Government Specialty team to ensure our clients receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective GRC strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with our Government Specialty team to deliver high-quality services to clients.
- Provide expert advice on internal control theory, internal audit standards, and compliance requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification.
- 5-7+ years of public accounting, industry, internal audit, compliance, or consulting experience.
- Advanced understanding of governmental business environments and associated compliance and risk requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, independent thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Experience supervising 2 to 5 or more individuals and proven ability to manage and develop staff.
- Extensive internal and/or external audit experience with a variety of industries and types of audits for government agencies and entities.
