Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, assist with preparation for exams, and ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Enter medical histories and prescriptions into our electronic medical record system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist physicians during exams and procedures, providing support and ensuring patient comfort.
  • Perform extractions, injections, and other patient treatments as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Prepare and collect path/lab specimens, notify patients of results, and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Educate patients and respond to their questions in a professional and empathetic manner, both in the office and over the phone.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organize exam rooms, prepare procedure trays, clean and autoclave instruments, and stock supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in a doctor's office, with prior dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant or Dermatology Technician is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of medical dermatology terms, CPT, and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Able to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a caring attitude when interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Work Environment

This position is based in a well-lit medical office environment, with occasional evening and weekend work required. You must be able to handle sharps and chemicals, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple staff demands and deadlines.
