Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Dynamics Analyst to join our team of experts in spacecraft design and development. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing the structural integrity of our spacecraft, ensuring the safety and reliability of our missions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct structural analysis and design of spacecraft components, including load path definition and strength analysis
  • Develop and refine finite element models to simulate structural behavior under various loads and environments
  • Integrate structural analysis with loads and dynamics environments to ensure safe and reliable spacecraft performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement structural design solutions that meet requirements and constraints
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including reports and presentations, to communicate structural analysis results and design recommendations
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, or civil engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in structural static/dynamic fundamentals, with a focus on spacecraft design and development
  • Previous experience in durability and dynamics tolerance on human-rate vehicles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply physics-based analytical methods to complex structural problems
  • Experience with commercial analytical tools, such as Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, and LS-Dyna
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with composite design and analysis, including material selection and testing
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and material selection for spacecraft components
  • Experience with structural optimization using industry-standard codes and tools
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
