About Our Company:

EMCOR Government Services is a recognized leader in integrated Facilities Management, dedicated to delivering exceptional service. We are currently in search of skilled HVAC Technicians to ensure the effective, efficient, and timely provision of our services. Technicians will operate in a mobile capacity, utilizing various trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, locksmithing, painting, and roofing to serve a diverse customer base within a designated geographic area. Each technician is provided with a company vehicle, tools, and equipment, and will manage their daily tasks using a company-issued iPad and iPhone. We also offer opportunities for professional development through on-the-job training and formal educational programs.

Position Overview:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the effective and timely delivery of our services to multiple clients within a specified territory. Technicians will travel to various customer locations to maintain commercial properties. In addition to performing minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance, HVAC Technicians will conduct preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and servicing of commercial HVAC systems. Technicians will analyze data to ensure optimal equipment performance and provide recommendations as necessary. A strong understanding of control operations and sequences for commercial HVAC systems is essential. Technicians will employ a variety of trade skills to resolve maintenance issues and must possess excellent communication abilities to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on standard HVAC systems commonly used by our light commercial clients, including inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, cleaning of condensate drain lines, and testing the performance of compressors and motors.
  • Perform general repairs on steam and hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues.
  • Utilize refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA regulations while servicing HVAC systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or system failures on HVAC systems, including but not limited to belts, compressors, and condensing units.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and repairs according to work order specifications.
  • Carry out minor plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
  • Perform routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities in excellent condition.
  • Execute minor electrical maintenance as permitted by state regulations.
  • Conduct service and asset inspections as required.
  • Effectively utilize technology for work order management and communication.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Complete required safety and compliance training and participate in weekly safety meetings.
  • Provide estimates for larger projects and services as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent certification in relevant trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, etc.) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC and general maintenance, including electrical and plumbing work.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions and safety manuals.
  • Proficient in using handheld devices and business management software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and company safety policies.
  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Willingness to travel locally between job sites.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for various tasks. Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards is common. May encounter wet conditions, high places, and varying temperatures. The noise level is typically moderate.

Compensation Range: $30-$35 per hour

Additional Compensation: Eligible for sign-on bonus
