**Job Description:

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning.
  • Assist teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms and play field environs.
  • Support students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, English language learners, and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in instructional support and special education.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.
  • Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Valid driver's license may be required; compliance with District skill/competency requirements.
  • First Aid/CPR certification may be required.
