Afterschool Program Director Opportunity at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District

We are seeking experienced Program Directors and Youth Development Professionals to join our team as Afterschool Program Directors and Assistant Directors. As a part of our THRIVE program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing learning curriculums, recreation programs, classes, or activities for children in an afterschool setting.

As an Afterschool Program Director, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, develop and implement engaging programs, and collaborate with colleagues to create a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement assigned learning curriculums, recreation programs, classes, or activities for children in an afterschool setting
  • Work independently within established guidelines to develop, coordinate, supervise, and instruct daily activities in the assigned program area
  • Provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff
  • Coordinate, instruct, supervise, and lead learning and enrichment activities
  • Create an inclusive and satisfying program atmosphere for all participants
  • Ensure the safety of program participants and provide basic first aid if necessary
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or related field
  • At least two years of experience working with children in an afterschool setting
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
