Medical Imaging Specialist

Duke Health is seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging procedures and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
About the Job:
This Medical Imaging Specialist will be responsible for operating high-field strength magnets to produce radiographic images of specific body parts. The ideal candidate will have certification in one of the following areas: Radiography (R), Radiation Therapy (T), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), CNMT, ARDMS, or registry eligible for Magnetic Resonance (MR).
Responsibilities:
- Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance
- Assist radiologists with procedure protocoling and performance
- Evaluate MR scans for technical quality and collate processed images
- Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical functions
- Charge MR procedures and supplies in EHR
- Loading and operating power injectors for contrast media administration
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Provide orientation for new technologists
- Provide education and training for student technologists
- Understand and use the Image Archival System
Requirements:
- Certification in one of the above-mentioned areas required
- ARRT or ARMRIT registered in Magnetic Resonance (MR) required within 18 months of employment
- BLS certification required
