Position Overview:
The City of Springfield is in search of a Professional Land Surveyor to ensure adherence to survey-related state regulations. This role involves providing recommendations concerning survey and land title processes, methodologies, assessments, and legal interpretations pertaining to construction, boundary determinations, floodplain management, and right-of-way issues.

Compensation:
Land Surveyor I: $69,955- $104,932
Land Surveyor II: $75,013- $112,520
Pay will be determined based on qualifications and in compliance with Oregon's Pay Equity Act.

Benefits:
Employees and their dependents have access to a complimentary on-site health and wellness center. The position includes a comprehensive medical package, which features a $1,200 health reimbursement account, sick leave, vacation, holidays, gym membership, and participation in the Oregon Public Employee's Retirement (PERS).

Qualifications:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications:

• Land Surveyor I: Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and 3 years of experience as a PLS
• Land Surveyor II: Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and 7 years of experience as a PLS

Licenses and Certifications:
• A valid Oregon Driver's license by the time of appointment
• Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Oregon, or PLS in a reciprocal state with the ability to obtain Oregon registration within 12 months
• Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Water Right Examiner (CWRE)
• Certified Drone Pilot through the Federal Aviation Administration
• Certified Floodplain Manager through the Association of State Floodplain Managers
• Senior Right of Way Agent (SR/WA) through the International Right of Way Association

Selection Process:
Top candidates will be invited for an interview. As part of the selection process, candidates will need to provide professional references. The selection process will include reference checks and a criminal background check.
