Job Summary

This role involves working with children and their families to support development toward school readiness. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing activities to advance child development, creating a healthy and safe learning environment, and participating in the development and implementation of individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement developmentally appropriate practices and follow ITERS standards to ensure a high-quality learning environment.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies.
  • Support the recruitment of children, families, and volunteers for program services.
  • Assume coordinator responsibilities in the absence of the Education Coordinator if assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential within the first 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to communicate and cooperate with children, other staff, and parents effectively and tactfully.
  • Ability to work with people of all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
