Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Manage all beverage personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to provide exceptional service to guests.
- Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly to guest complaints and concerns, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Financial Management: Assist in preparing the beverage budget and monitor department performance to ensure revenue and payroll targets are met.
- Market Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and take proactive steps to maintain competitive and profitable operations.
- Communication: Keep the Hotel Manager informed of all problems or matters requiring their attention.
- Loss Prevention: Coordinate and monitor all phases of Loss Prevention in the beverage department.
- Training and Development: Organize and conduct department meetings, ensuring all staff are trained and equipped to deliver exceptional service.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of service and product, ensuring high standards are maintained.
- Purchasing and Inventory: Ensure timely purchase of beverage items, within budget allocation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, health, and sanitation regulations.
- Training and Development: Attend and/or conduct departmental and hotel training, ensuring all staff are equipped to deliver exceptional service.
- Recruitment and Selection: Interview candidates for front-of-house beverage positions and follow standards of hiring approvals.
- Departmental Knowledge: Be familiar with the function of each department and ensure training of all beverage personnel.
- Performance Management: Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all beverage personnel, ensuring they meet performance expectations.
- Payroll and HR: Review beverage staff worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on a timely basis.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience, or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
- Supervisory Experience: Supervisory experience is required.
