POSITION SUMMARY

The Heavy Load Transport Operator is responsible for the operation of multi-axle trucks and combination trailers as assigned by the dispatch team. This role includes the loading, unloading, and securing of freight, while adhering to oversized transportation regulations and designated routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently plan and organize transport loads and trips.
  • Collaborate with Operations and dispatch to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with dispatch.
  • Identify and report any operational issues to the team.
  • Drive in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough pre and post-trip inspections.

Primary Duties

  • Secure cargo for transport using the appropriate equipment.
  • Safely maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
  • Engage professionally with customers.
  • Address customer concerns in a calm and effective manner.
  • Comply with all DOT regulations.
  • Safely operate heavy and oversized loads.
  • Maximize profitability while minimizing risks.
  • Enforce safety protocols.
  • Accurately document mileage and service hours.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment.
  • Exhibit regular attendance.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Provide mentorship to fellow drivers.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy haul driving.
  • Possession of a valid Class A CDL.
  • Current DOT Medical Card.
  • Necessary endorsements as required.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations.
  • Ability to interpret permits and related paperwork.
  • Availability for full-time work, including overtime and travel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Travel Expectations

  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
