Aviation Professor Position

Central Washington University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Aviation to join our team in Ellensburg, Washington. This role is a crucial part of our Aviation program, and we are looking for an individual who can enhance our vision for the University.

The successful candidate will teach in the Professional Pilot program, which prepares students for careers as professional pilots in private industry and governmental agencies. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Aviation, Business, Education, Management, or Safety, with advanced flight ratings and five years of aviation industry experience.
Key qualifications include:
- Earned Master's degree in Aviation, Business, Education, Management, or Safety
- Logged flight hours equivalent to an FAA Part 141 Assistant Chief Instructor
- Demonstrated success in teaching at the college or university level
- Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and through various modalities
- Research, teaching, service, or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement and inclusion of culturally diverse students
Preferred qualifications include:
- University-level teaching experience
- Experience in flight program curriculum development and improvement
- Scholarship/creative activities interests
- Service interests
- Earned Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) preferably in Aviation, Business, Education, Management, or Safety
