Job Summary

Central Washington University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor in School Psychology to join our Psychology team. This tenure-track position is a critical component of our School Psychology graduate program, and we are looking for a candidate who will excel in teaching, research, and mentoring students.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field, and will be eligible for certification as a school psychologist. They will also have experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds, and will be able to apply culturally responsive teaching practices in their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach graduate-level school psychology and undergraduate-level psychology courses
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic pursuits
  • Develop and implement culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Contribute to the development of the School Psychology graduate program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification and experience as a school psychologist
  • Background and interest in child and adolescent counseling and/or mental health interventions in the schools
  • Experience or interest in developing and teaching online courses
  • Experience in curriculum development and improvement
