Youth Aquatic Program Instructor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Aquatic Program Instructor to join our team at the Aquatic Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching boating safety to children ages 7-17 and handling the daily operations for youth programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach boating safety classes to children ages 7-17
  • Supervise and instruct youth groups, birthday parties, and team builds
  • Check-in and check-out of campers on a daily basis
  • Facility and equipment cleaning on a daily basis
  • Available to work overtime during peak seasons
  • Must be available for certain shifts or special events
Requirements
  • C.P.R., First Aid, Lifeguard Certificate (must be current)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive a power boat and pass the DBAW Safety Certification/CA Boater Card
  • Ability to play and facilitate games in a fun environment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be prepared for both heat and cold
  • Must have prior experience in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and canoeing, rowing or have completed the required courses
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Aquatic/boating knowledge
  • Class B Driver's License with passenger endorsement
  • Previous experience working with children
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask. The Aquatic Center is a dynamic and growing organization, and the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and adaptable.
