Job Overview

Floor & Decor is seeking a highly skilled Senior Interior Design Lead to lead our design team and provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with customers to understand their project needs and provide expert design advice
  • Develop creative design concepts that incorporate customers' personal style, lifestyle, and budget
  • Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation
  • Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
  • Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
  • Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up
  • Communicate effectively with customers and store employees through consistent and concise communication
  • Participate in local professional affiliations and stay up-to-date on current and emerging design trends
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) or 6 years of interior design experience in lieu of design education
  • Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
  • Prior retail/sales experience preferred
  • Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills
  • Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite

Working Conditions:

  • Limited travel may be required by car
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles

Physical/Sensory Requirements:

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
