About the Position

VHB's Atlanta Archaeology Group is seeking experienced Archaeological Field Technicians to support our team for Phase I archaeological field survey work in the Southeast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phase I archaeological fieldwork, including pedestrian survey, shovel testing, and field data recording of soils, artifact finds, and site resources.
  • Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of data using handheld GPS units; Survey123 and Field Maps App.
  • Work closely with project team under the supervision of VHB archaeologists.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently.
  • Motivated to lead and mentor others.
  • A bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field.
  • 0-1 years of field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, and excavation, and monitoring.
  • 6+ months of field experience preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited field school or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
