Job Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Cleary University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Athletic Trainer to join our team. As a key member of our sports medicine program, you will be responsible for the athletic health care administration, including the development, coordination, and delivery of professional and administrative services.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary clinician in the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses to Cleary University student-athletes. This role requires a strong understanding of university culture and a commitment to leading an intercollegiate sports medicine program in an academically rigorous collegiate environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and cover athletic training services, including practice and game coverage.
  • Primary liaison with physicians in scheduling orthopedic clinic events, physical exam sessions, and collaborating on athlete status.
  • Assist in processing and management of insurance claims for injuries sustained while participating in athletic department programs.
  • Maintain medical records on student-athletes, utilizing injury tracking software.
  • Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the athletic training facility.
  • Develop and communicate athletic training policies and procedures for visiting teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in sports medicine/athletic training required from a four-year college or university.
  • Certified Athletic Trainer from the National Athletic Trainers Association.
  • Proven organizational, administrative, communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Licensed or eligible in the state of Michigan.
