Job Summary

As a Nurse Specialist in our 6W Telemetry unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families. This is a part-time opportunity working night shifts, with every third weekend required and holidays as needed.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our team at Steward Health Care, a leading health system that is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing nursing care that supports the total person and promotes adaptation of the individual. This will be accomplished through counseling, teaching, direct care, and collaboration/consultation with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Provide superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients

Utilize the nursing process in providing nursing care of patients through assessing and reassessing patients and families, planning the process of nursing care, implementing and/or directing delivery of nursing care, and evaluating care delivered

Practice and promote nursing care within professional standards, legal standards, and ethical standards

Provide patient teaching to patient and/or family

Orient all level of Nursing division personnel, and nursing students

Participate in unit-based educational programs

Take responsibility for own learning

Demonstrate effective leadership skills

Support and collaborate in the Medical Center Performance Improvement plan through unit quality improvement/quality control activities

Requirements

Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse

BLS/ACLS required

Associates Degree in nursing required, BSN preferred

Meets performance criteria of Staff Nurse

Able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language

Able to complete mathematical computations required to administer medications and treatment protocols

Able to lift, transfer and move patients

Possess basic computer knowledge
