Job Summary:
As a CT Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography examinations and procedures in our state-of-the-art CT service areas. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the highest quality images for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform computed tomography studies and procedures, positioning patients and providing immobilization means as required.
  • Review orders, prepare schedules, and consult with attending Radiologists and Registered Nurses as needed.
  • Maintain daily records of exams performed and ensure accuracy of information and data entry.
  • Prepare sterile fields and contrast agents, and maintain appropriate and adequate supplies during procedures.
  • Assist radiologists during procedures, capturing specific interventional CT images and assisting with biopsy specimen collection.
  • Post-process CT images as required, preparing images for Radiologist interpretation and transmission to the Diagnostic Imaging PACS system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all department equipment and devices, reporting equipment malfunctions appropriately.
  • Provide service-oriented communication with patients, explaining procedures and answering questions.
  • Ensure appropriate safety precautions are followed, applying measures to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Function as part of the resuscitation team during Code Blue and/or Rapid Response Team situations.
  • Maintain all materials needed and linen supply on a daily basis, and maintain general order and cleanliness of the room assigned.
  • Rotate and share on-call responsibilities for CT service areas.
  • Pursue ongoing continuing education and attend departmental meetings and/or inservice presentations as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year general radiology experience plus one year (2,080 hours) computed tomography experience, including experience or successful completion of training program in area of specialty, if applicable.
  • Associates degree in radiologic technology; or two (2) years of directly related experience.
  • Radiographer License (Hawaii), Radiologic Technologist Certification, and Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist (RT) (CT) Certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
