As a result of ongoing expansion, a prominent national Brokerage is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Commercial, E&S, Multi-line Underwriting Manager.
This position involves overseeing a team of seven direct reports and managing both the underwriting and production aspects of the department, in addition to handling a personal portfolio of clients.
The business encompasses a diverse range of commercial, small to mid-sized Property and General Liability classes.Key Responsibilities of the Manager:
- Assessing risks to ensure adherence to underwriting standards for new and renewal business
- Tracking the department's New Business success rate, loss ratios, operational costs, and retention metrics
- Assisting in the formulation of strategic initiatives for the department
- Engaging in marketing activities, including agency visits
- Providing training and mentorship to team members
- A minimum of five to ten years of experience in multi-line underwriting
- At least five years in a managerial or team leadership capacity
- Experience in excess and surplus lines underwriting
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred designations include CPCU, ASLI, CIC, or similar credentials
