Job Title: Customer Service Center Representative

At Bank of Greene County, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Center Representative to join our team. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, resolving their banking inquiries and issues, and ensuring that their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Resolve customer banking questions and issues in accordance with the Bank's operating controls and procedures.
  • Identify sales and retention opportunities by recognizing customer needs and providing solutions.
  • Process ancillary system enrollments, general maintenance, and reviews.
  • Provide technical support to customers and staff on ancillary systems.
  • Process research requests related to customer inquiries.
  • Prepare and conduct periodic reviews of various reports.
  • Develop knowledge of the Bank's products, services, and general information.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal customer service skills, including listening, written, and oral communication.
  • Develop a basic understanding of operations in other departments.
  • Assist in communication for the Overdraft Privilege Program.
  • Contribute to fostering teamwork within the department.
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Successfully complete training programs as necessary.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Basic technical knowledge necessary to learn and operate the Bank's software and applications.
  • Demonstrates pleasant vocal tone and inflection.
  • Must show initiative, reliability, and team-oriented values.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills.

All employees will become familiar with how their customers handle their accounts and will report any transactions that are not within the normal activities of the customer.

The employee will be trained in compliance with the BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, and associated laws and regulations under the Bank's Compliance Program as it pertains to his or her job functions.

Employees are expected to meet all compliance requirements as stated within the Bank's BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Program.

Failure to meet these compliance standards may adversely affect performance appraisals and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Employee's compliance violations may result in termination, individual fines, and possible imprisonment.
