Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate ICU Nurse to join our team at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. As a critical care nurse, you will provide expert care to critically ill patients and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identifies needs for intervention.
  • Demonstrate appropriate decision making, critical thinking and clinical judgment to make nursing decisions and identify healthcare needs.
  • Evaluate and document each patient's response to medications, interventions, and procedures.
  • Assist in the formulation, coordination, and implementation of the patient's Plan of Care based on the assessment of their individual needs.
  • Monitor basic EKG, recognize rhythms, and intervene as needed.
  • Assist the physician with procedures such as intubation, line placement, and chest tubes.
  • Ensure ventilator, monitors, and other equipment are functioning properly. Ability to troubleshoot alarms.
  • Demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized, and function well under stressful situations.
  • Collaborate with fellow members of the critical care team.
Requirements
  • Current Idaho State RN license in good standing.
  • 1-2 years ICU nursing experience preferred.
  • Associates degree in nursing required, Bachelor preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain BLS or BCLS on hire.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification preferred. Must obtain ALS or ACLS within 6 months of hire or transfer into ICU.
  • TNCC is required within 18 months of hire or transfer into ICU.
  • PALS is a highly recommended advanced course, however, is not mandatory.
  • Level I competencies are required to be completed by the end of the first 18 months of employment.
  • Level II competencies are required to be completed by the end of the third year of employment.

We have the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for critically ill children. Our 74-bed Behavioral Health Center offers inpatient and outpatient mental health care for adolescents and adults.
