General Summary
This Registered Nurse position is the foundational role for nurses with over a year of experience. The nurse will demonstrate competence in essential skills and actively engage in unit governance. Responsibilities include providing and coordinating patient care within a specialized clinical area, contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team, and upholding the standards set forth in the Professional Nurse Job Charter. The nurse will be accountable for patient care processes and outcomes, as well as for advancing group practice on the unit.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Successful completion of probationary evaluation; current on all required training and certifications.
- Active Registered Nurse licensure in Maryland or eligibility through Compact state agreements.
- Maintenance of continuing education requirements.
- Membership in a professional nursing organization.
- Recent relevant clinical experience in a similar environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven leadership abilities, including experience as a charge nurse or clinical mentor.
- Proficiency in utilizing computer systems for patient information management.
- Ability to provide care tailored to the specific needs of diverse patient populations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Commitment to Patient Safety
- Ensures patient safety in all job functions and participates in safety initiatives.
- Takes proactive measures to address potential safety risks.
- Reports incidents and near misses to appropriate management.
