Job Description

As a key member of the Northwell Health leadership team, the Director of International Patient Services Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize operational functions and improve clinical outcomes and financial performance of the International Patient Services Division. This role will collaborate with leadership to identify best practices, develop operational strategies, and cost-effective solutions to increase overall program volume and revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and articulate a long-term strategic vision for the International Patient Services Division.
  • Promote quality and productivity improvements through involvement in the development of improved procedures, process innovations, and changes that support the strategic direction of the health system.
  • Research, develop, and coordinate the implementation of strategic plans, policies, and standards to maximize programmatic success while managing program expense.
  • Participate in planning, organizing, and coordinating financial policies and practices to control revenues, disburse funds, and conserve assets.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify best practices and deficiencies, develop performance improvement strategies, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Direct the implementation of Human Resources plans to achieve strategic goals and objectives, including organizational development, recruiting, compensation, training, and development, and employee relations.
  • Direct the management and development of professional contacts and community support through identifying and developing new business initiatives and opportunities.
  • Represent the business unit with various internal and external partners and manage joint operating committees as needed.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 10-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership/management experience, required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven success in international patient services expansion, demonstrated track record of developing and implementing strategies that significantly increased international patient volume and revenue within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in establishing international healthcare operations, proven ability to set up and manage international offices or partnerships, including navigating regulatory requirements, cultural nuances, and logistics.
  • Network of global healthcare contacts, possesses an established network of relationships with international healthcare providers, insurance companies, or government agencies to facilitate patient referrals and partnerships.
  • Strategic understanding of medical tourism landscape, strong understanding of global healthcare trends, competitive landscapes, and key success factors within the medical tourism industry.
